Without objection, the bill was returned to second reading. Senator French offered Amendment No. 1 : Page 1, following line 3: Insert a new bill section to read: "* Section 1. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to read: LEGISLATIVE INTENT. It is the desire of this legislature that the provisions of secs. 2 - 7 and 9 of this Act, which are substantially similar to those proposed in an initiative petition, not be repealed for at least two years after the Act's effective date." SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 414(JUD) was automatically in third reading. Senator Ben Stevens moved and asked unanimous consent to abstain from voting due to a conflict of interest. Objections were heard and Senator Ben Stevens was required to vote.
